Info on extra curricular acitivites

October 11, 2017

Dear parents,

Due to some queries recently and last year, I’d like to make you aware of the extra curricular activities that take place in our school during the year, as perhaps first time parents may not be aware of same.  These activities are run on a voluntary basis, by our teachers, either during their lunchtimes, after school or at weekends and are done to offer our children a wide range of activities, outside of the class room/academic subjects. We are lucky to have so many teachers who give of their own time to these activities:

Chess (lunchtimes)

Quiz practice (lunchtimes, competitions at weekends)

Choir (lunchtime practice, performances at night time)

Sport; Athletics (Cross Country/ Cork City Sports – practice at lunchtimes)

G.A.A. – 15 a side boys’ football, ladies’ football, camogie, hurling, indoor hurling, indoor camogie, indoor boys’ football, indoor ladies’ football, 7-a-side boys’ football and 7-a-side ladies’ football (all training is either after school between 3-4pm or during lunchtimes)

Hockey (lunchtimes)

Robotics (during lunchtimes)

Enrolment Masses (night times)

First Confession (night time)

First Holy Communion (Saturdays)

Green School Committee (lunchtimes)

Scór na bPáistí (lunchtimes)

Christmas shows (night time)

Cór Fhéile (night time)

I’d like to thank all the teachers who put their own time into these activities and the parents who support us with lifts to events, money towards buses etc..

Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine.

 Le meas,

Eoghan Hyde
